Guide
From first sign-in to a tracked application. Nine short sections, about five minutes to read. New to Devtriage? Start with what it is.
Sign in, tell Devtriage what to look for, and run the first scan.
- Sign in with GitHub, Google or LinkedIn. No password needed, and every account gets the daily scan of the boards.
- Answer four questions: minimum rate, technologies, location and, if you like, your current contract. A live count shows how many offers from the last scan would pass.
- Add searches to scan. In Criteria → What to scan, paste the link to a search on JustJoin.it, NoFluffJobs or Bulldogjob, with your filters set on the board. You can also paste the link to a company’s careers page on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workable.
- Run the first scan with Run scan now. It takes a few minutes; after that Devtriage scans every morning, and again early in the afternoon on weekdays.
Tip Until setup is done, the Inbox opens with a short checklist.
Every scan lands here, best score first. The ring is the score: how well the offer fits your criteria.
Criteria decide what reaches your Inbox. Everything else is kept, with the reason it was dropped.
- Set a minimum monthly rate. It is compared with the top of each range as the ad shows it: the invoice for B2B, gross for employment.
- Add required technologies and boosts. An offer must list at least one required technology; boosts raise the score of the skills you want most.
- Choose where you can work. Tick remote work and any number of cities. Remote offers pass when remote is ticked; hybrid and office offers pass only in one of your cities. Here you can also block companies or hide agencies.
- Watch the preview, then save. While you edit, it sorts every offer from the last scan into Matched or the reason it would be dropped.
Each dot is one of 140 offers from a sample scan. The Matched column is what reaches your Inbox; the other columns hold the rest, by the reason it was dropped: salary, title, location or stack.
Every offer opens in a drawer that explains its score and shows where else it appears.
- The match score (0–100) comes from your criteria: rate, stack, remote work and seniority.
- Badges show what changed: how long the ad has been open, rate changes, reposts, agencies, and whether it beats your contract.
- Ad history and Same job elsewhere show the ad’s past and the same role on other boards, with the best-paying posting marked.
- On a phone, swipe right for Interested or left to dismiss. Every choice can be undone for a few seconds.
The score adds up what you set in Criteria: salary, stack, remote and seniority.
Applications move through five columns: Interested, Applied, Interview, Offer and Closed.
- Mark an offer Interested or Applied from the Inbox, the drawer or the extension, then drag cards between columns.
- Add an application by hand for a referral or a recruiter’s message: paste a link and Devtriage fills in what it can.
- After 7 days without a reply, the card reminds you to follow up, and the drawer has a message ready to copy. After three follow-ups with no answer, close it as Ghosted.
- History and Your week show closed applications and how your search is going: reply rate, interviews and offers that beat your contract.
Every offer you’re working on, from Interested to Closed.
The extension adds Devtriage to job pages you open yourself. It works without an account and never applies for you.
- Install it from the Chrome Web Store and set a minimum rate, technologies and your B2B setup on its settings page.
- On job lists, a pill next to each offer shows its score and status. Click it for details.
- When you apply on a board, a bar asks whether you sent the application and records it.
- Connect your account (optional) with a token from Connections → Extension tokens, so offers from pracuj.pl, theprotocol.it and LinkedIn reach your Inbox.
Tip Without an account, scores and take-home work from what you browse. Daily scans, ad history and market ranges need the account.
Rates are easier to compare as money in your account each month.
- Describe your setup in Criteria → Take-home pay: for B2B the tax form, ZUS, costs and days off, for employment the cost of earning and the relief for people under 26. Each rate and gross salary then shows ≈ net per month.
- Enter your current contract to mark the offers that beat it; passive mode notifies you only about those.
Tip Estimates use 2026 ZUS and health contribution rates. They are not tax advice; check edge cases with an accountant.
200 PLN/h on lump-sum 12% with full ZUS leaves about 26.5k a month.
Devtriage works as an app on your home screen, without the browser bars.
- Android: open Devtriage in Chrome, tap ⋮ → Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- iPhone: open it in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
- Open it from the home screen and sign in once.
The same ranked list, one offer per row. The ring is the score.
Most surprises have a simple cause.
- An offer is missing? Open All offers → Filtered out. If the offer is there, you’ll see why it was dropped. If not, check in Criteria → What to scan that a search from the board where it was posted is added.
- A board failed? Connections and Scans show a warning next to it. There’s nothing to do: the next scan tries that board again.
- Still stuck? Write through the contact page and tick “Include technical details”.
What Devtriage keeps, and how to remove it.
- Stored: your criteria, statuses and notes, and for each offer its title, company, rate, link and a hash of the description. Never the ad text.
- Export or delete everything from Account at any time.
